Tower ringing outing January 2023
Ringing Tours are outings where we visit 5-6 different churches in one day, spending forty five minutes at each trying out their bells, experiencing different rings. At Bovey we arrange an outing every 3-4 months. Our New Year outing took us to Churston Ferrers, Brixham, Paignton, Cockington, Stoke Gabriel and Berry Pomeroy. And of course lunch at a very nice pub The Drum Inn at Cockington.
Christmas Handbells
Some of us rang Jingle Bells on handbells before the Civic Carol Service. We aim to increase our repertoire for next year!
Dove's Guide to Church Bells - Our Entry
This is our tower entry In Dove’s Guide for Church Bellringers . You can see that these bells were made at the John Taylor foundry and the tenor weighs 14 hundredweight which is about 748kg.
